Community Speed Watch Activity in Lees

Community Speed Watch Activity in Lees

Dear resident,

In response to concerns raised by local residents regarding vehicles travelling at excessive speeds in the area, officers from the Saddleworth & Lees Neighbourhood Policing Team, alongside the Community Speed Watch Team, carried out speed monitoring activity in the Lees area.

During the operation, a number of vehicles were checked for compliance with the speed limit. Whilst the majority of road users were complying with the speed limit, a small number were found to be exceeding it and were dealt with according.

This activity forms part of our ongoing work to address concerns raised by the community and improve road safety for all road users.

Road Safety Tips:

• Always stick to the speed limit.

• Allow plenty of time for your journey and avoid rushing.

• Remember that higher speeds increase stopping distances and the severity of collisions.

• Slow down in residential areas and where pedestrians may be present.

• Drive according to the road, traffic, and weather conditions.

Thank you to the Community Speed Watch volunteers for their continued support. We will continue to listen to concerns raised by residents and carry out enforcement and engagement activity where required.

Kind regards,
