Burglary Alert – Keeping your property secure |

|
Dear Roehampton residents,
We are advising residents to keep their properties secure after a burglary was reported on Rodway Road, SW15 on 10/10/2026.
Burglars will use a variety of methods to avoid being noticed when trying to enter your home, they do not want to be seen or heard and attempt their best to make their way onto your property and take your belongings. We would you like to provide some helpful advice so that you can protect your property the best you can.
Make your property visible – Outside lighting that activate at dusk to dawn is an effective deterrent, as well as having CCTV/Doorbell cameras. Also, having a low, well kept borderline of bushes and plants prevents would be burglars from hiding, as does low fencing. Having less opportunities for the burglars to take their time makes it less appealing for them to attempt entry into your property.
Before leaving your property for work, school or other activities, please make sure that your windows and doors are shut and locked. Such crimes are usually committed by opportunistic offenders that seek those entry points to be left open so that they can commit their crime.
