Multi-Agency Partnership Deployment – West End, Chinatown & Covent Garden

On Thursday, 08th of October, St James’s Safer Neighbourhood Team worked alongside Westminster City Council and other partner agencies during a joint deployment across the West End, Chinatown and Covent Garden.

The operation focused on cycle safety, anti-social behaviour (ASB), public safety and enforcement of Public Spaces Protection Orders.

Working together, officers and partners achieved some great results:

2 arrests

6 Community Protection Warnings issued

4 Fixed Penalty Notices issued for dangerously parked bikes

2 warning letters to be issued for A-boards obstructing the highway

16 people given advice regarding cycling on the highway

22 engagements relating to ASB and welfare concerns, including 5 referrals to support services

5 local businesses engaged

4 waste issues reported for removal

The deployment was a great example of how partnership working between the Metropolitan Police, Westminster City Council and other local agencies can make a real difference in our communities.

A big thank you to Westminster City Council and all our partners for their continued support and hard work.

We will continue working together to keep our streets safe and welcoming for everyone.
