National Hate Crime Awareness Week – Come and Meet Your Local Police Team

See the latest update on hate crime locally—we’re aware and taking action.

📅 Saturday 17th October
🕛 15:30 pm
📍 Brick Lane, E1

PCSOs from your local neighbourhood policing team will be out and about on Brick Lane, E1 to mark National Hate Crime Awareness Week.

Come along to our stall, pick up some free merchandise and speak to our team about hate crime and how we can work together to make our community safer and more inclusive.

Our PCSOs will be on hand to provide advice and guidance on:
• Recognising hate crime and understanding what it means.
• Reporting hate crime and the different ways to seek help.
• Supporting victims and witnesses, including where to access further support.
• Preventing hate crime and challenging prejudice and discrimination.
• Community safety and how we can work together to build a community where everyone feels safe, respected and welcome.

Whether you have a question, a concern or simply want to find out more, please stop by and say hello. Our team will be happy to speak with you.

Hatred and violence have no place in our city.

When someone is assaulted or abused due to their race, religion, sexual orientation, disability or whether they are transgender, then a hate crime may have occurred, and you should report this to the police.

We are committed to a Met that is completely anti-discriminatory and treats all Londoners fairly – policing without fear or favour.

We have recently announced the launch of our brand-new Community Protection Teams, bringing together neighbourhood, specialist and counter terrorism officers together to tackle hate in all of its forms.

More details of what counts as a hate crime or incident can be found on our website, as well as tool to report hate crime specifically, including if it was online.

Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
