Pascal Street Illegal Street Trading

Pascal Street Illegal Street Trading

Here’s a quick update on anti-social behaviour locally. We know it can be distressing, but we’re working closely with partners to make the area safer and support residents.

Officers from Vauxhall and Stockwell Safer Neighbourhood Teams have deployed to Pascal Street alongside Lambeth Council to tackle illegal street trading that occurs on Sundays. During the deployment several individuals were engaged with, details taken and goods seized. The amount of good seized from the deployment managed to fill an entire Transit van. Lambeth Council will be issuing fines and taking those to court who have been found to be illegally street trading.

Alongside this, you local officers spotted an individual and during the deployment stopped and engaged with this person. They were arrested on scene after it was found that they were currently wanted by INTERPOL for offences overseas. This individual has now been extradited and will serve a sentence in the requesting country.

Officers know that this issue is persistent and will continue to work with the council, deploying to the area alongside them on several more occasions. We are always keen to hear from anyone with any information about individuals participating in these markets and will take all information into consideration when deploying to the area.

Across London we’ve put hundreds more officers on the frontlines of community crime-fighting teams, upping visible patrols in the right ‘hot spots’ so we can deter and catch criminals - including with new tech like live facial recognition cameras, drones and e-bikes.

Antisocial behaviour can come in many forms and can require support from more organisations than just the police. A full list of what we categorise as antisocial behaviour is available on our website.
