We would like to share a positive policing update from your local officers at Mile End Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) from last week.

Following the concerns of multiple residents during the ward panel meeting from Lansbury West Estate, officers decided to take proactive action in seeking a partial closure order for one of the properties linked to several ASB reports and drug related activities. The courts have approved the partial closure order, and this will be enforced by officers going forward.

In addition, proactive patrols on Friday, 9 October 2026, on Canton Street, outside Hopkins House, officers came across individuals who were observed smoking cannabis.

Following further enquires; large amount of suspected Class B and Class A drugs were found in the possession of one of the individuals . An arrest was subsequently made in connection with the suspected drug offences.

Proactive patrols will continue by your local Safer Neighbourhood Team to tackle drug-related activities, anti-social behaviour and deter any criminal activities from occurring.
