Do you use Nottingham’s buses or trams? We want to hear about your experiences and what more can be done to help everyone travel safely and with confidence.
The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Nottinghamshire is encouraging residents across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire to take part in a survey exploring safety on the city’s public transport network, particularly for those who may feel more vulnerable, including women and girls.
Whether you use public transport every day for work or education, occasionally for shopping or leisure, or have concerns that discourage you from travelling, your views matter.
A number of initiatives are already underway to make public transport safer, with Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner Gary Godden working alongside police, transport operators and other partners to tackle crime, antisocial behaviour and the issues affecting passengers’ confidence.
These include Operation SafeTravel, which has strengthened the visible safety presence across Nottingham’s bus and tram network through dedicated patrols, targeted enforcement and preventative work.
The initiative also involves youth workers from Breaking Barriers Building Bridges (4Bs), who are engaging directly with young people at tram stops and other locations to identify risks, provide reassurance and connect those who may be vulnerable with appropriate support.
Recent activity has already seen youth workers help locate two missing or high-risk young people, support a young woman to get home safely following an incident involving reports of weapons, and signpost more than 50 young people towards youth services and mentoring opportunities.
This builds on Operation SafeNet, which has strengthened cooperation between Nottinghamshire Police and Nottingham Express Transit (NET) to tackle crime and antisocial behaviour on and around the tram network.
The initiative includes a police officer working within NET’s control room and the use of crime data and intelligence to help direct policing activity towards the locations and times where it is most needed.
While these initiatives are helping to strengthen safety and reassurance across the network, we know there is always more that can be done.
That’s why we want to hear directly from the people who use our buses and trams.
The survey will help us better understand how safe passengers feel, what concerns they may have and where further improvements could make the biggest difference.
Your feedback will help inform future discussions, partnership working and decisions about what additional measures could improve safety and confidence when travelling.
🎁 You could also win a shopping voucher!
Everyone who completes the survey will have the opportunity to enter a prize draw to win one of three shopping vouchers:
* £50 first prize

Please take a few minutes to share your experiences and encourage friends, family and colleagues who use Nottingham’s public transport network to do the same.
Together, we can help make travelling across Nottingham safer and more welcoming for everyone.
