Appeal to trace witnesses of attack on man

Appeal to trace witnesses of attack on man

Dear Resident

You may have heard of the horrific incident that happened earlier this year where a man in his 50s was attacked on St Paul’s Road in Smethwick.

It happened at around 8.30pm on Sunday, 14 June.

The man sustained very serious injuries and remains in hospital, receiving treatment.

Two boys, aged 17, have now been charged with attempted murder. They are due to attend court this month.

As our investigation progresses, we are asking for your help.

We know that a member of the public saw the attack and went into the Gurdwara Baba Sang to alert others.

A number of people then attended the scene of the attack but at this stage we don’t know who they were. They may have seen something really important that may help our investigation.

If you are one of these people, we urge you to come forward and speak to us.

You can do this by calling 101 and quote 20/286142/26.
