Cycle Operation at South Kensington

Officers from the Chelsea Safer Neighbourhood Team got on their bikes and assisted our colleagues from Kensington for an operation to stop cyclists not adhering to the highway code. 

It came as a surprise to some of them that the red lights are for them to stop as well.

It came as more a surprise when they received a Penalty Charge Notice for £100.

‘I’m late for a meeting!' is not a defence.

Officers issued 26 fines in the area around South Kensington. Words of advice were also given to other cyclists who decided to stop once they had seen us.

These operations will continue, and officers from Kensington will come down and assist on our wards for further tasking.
