Hello Resident,
We hope you are well. Here is an update regarding crime and Police activity in Burbage this week. I have attached the No Thanks trick or treat poster if you or a neighbour want this as we approach Halloween.
Reported Crime and Appeals
Report of 3 youths on motorbikes around the wooded area off Brookside, heading towards the Hansom cab estate around 17:45 – 17:55 on Sunday the 11th. If you have any images or information relating to these people, please get in touch.
We have received a couple of reports of a male acting in an “odd” manner around Burbage common/Smithy Lane area. No offences identified but just for your awareness. We are completing patrols in the area but please contact Police if you have any information.
Report of a non stop road traffic collision on London Road on the 10th of October at around 19:30. If you were driving in the area of London Road/Spa Lane, and have Dash cam, please take a look and get in touch if you caught the incident. The child involved was shaken but no injuries reported. 26000612536
We get the occasional report regarding nitrous oxide cannisters dumped in wooded areas and car parks. If you manage to see any vehicle registrations involved or have any ideas of the persons involved, please get in touch. We are completing regular patrols in the areas we have been made aware of. Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk
Report of vehicle related anti-social behaviour on Kensington Avenue at 18:00 on the 13th. We are completing investigations relating to this and will be dealing with the driver/vehicle over the coming week.
Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement
We completed our local officer drop in at the Three Pots Post Office on Monday. It was a very well attended event, and we spoke to lots of residents around residential burglary, vehicle crime and other local concerns. We also provided some of the younger children with road safety items including bicycle lights.
Patrols around areas such as Burbage common, Tilton Road Park, three pots, Castle Court/East Close and Brookside areas. We are also continuing to visit Sketchley meadows industrial estate following several breaks over the last month.
As complaints around E-scooters, E-bikes and motorbikes continue (youth related at locations such as Forresters Road and Tilton Park), please get in touch if you have any information on those responsible. Darren.stretton@leics.police.uk
Vehicle abandoned with no tax on Woodland Avenue. Vehicle seized using DVLA powers. Another reminder to people to ensure that vehicles have tax if left on a public road as this type of behaviour causes issues for those that live in the area.
Crime prevention and issues to be aware of
If you have teenagers and are planning any parties over Halloween/Bonfire night, please consider that historically, Police can get calls regarding criminal damage and general Anti-social behaviour, often when children are leaving these parties. If your child is attending a party, please organise times and locations to collect them and make sure the party is organised and run by a resposible adult.
Over the coming month, we will be doing a lot of work around road safety. This will include school activities and targeted work such as community speed watch.
We will also continue to raise awareness around residential burglary and car crime, completing patrols and offering crime reduction items. We have several events coming up in November, but we are also free as and when you need any advice or support with this.
Thank you and take care.
