Matthew Arnold School Career Fair

Sergeant Chris Cochrane and PCSO Shafiul Islam were pleased to attend the recent Matthew Arnold School Career Fair, where they had the opportunity to speak with students about the wide range of careers and pathways available within policing.

Throughout the event, pupils were able to learn more about the different roles within Thames Valley Police, including frontline policing, neighbourhood policing, specialist departments, and staff roles. Officers discussed the skills and qualities needed for a career in policing and answered questions about recruitment, training, and day-to-day policing activities.

Sgt Chris Cochrane said:

"Events like this are incredibly important as they give us the opportunity to engage directly with young people, build trust and positive relationships, and provide an insight into the varied and rewarding careers available within policing. By speaking with students and answering their questions, we can help inspire the next generation while also strengthening the connection between the police and our communities."

We would like to thank Matthew Arnold School for inviting us to attend and for giving us the opportunity to engage with so many enthusiastic and interested students. We look forward to continuing to work with local schools and young people across our communities.
