Hello! Invite to a Local Members’ Meeting |

Hello Neighbours,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new Neighbourhood Watch Area Coordinator for Batchwood, and I’d love to invite you to our first get-together!
My name is Damian Gaskin. I’m a local resident, a St Michael Parish Councillor and actively involved in several community initiatives, including New Greens Residents Association, our Safer Streets Campaign and the Batchwood Pickers. I’m passionate about community, looking out for one another, making sure everyone feels heard, protecting the vulnerable and making our community an even better, safer and friendlier place to live.
So, let’s get together! I’d really like to meet as many of you as possible, and importantly, give you the opportunity to meet one another. After all, Neighbourhood Watch is about much more than keeping an eye out for suspicious activity. It’s about looking out for each other, sharing information and building a stronger community. This will be the first of what I hope will be many regular meetings over the coming months. For our first gathering, I’d like to keep things friendly, informal and focused on listening to you. In particular, I’d love to hear:
In future meetings, I hope we’ll be joined by local councillors and representatives from Hertfordshire Constabulary, giving us opportunities to raise concerns directly and work together on solutions. But for this first meeting, it’s just us — the existing members of Batchwood Neighbourhood Watch and me. An opportunity to get acquainted, exchange ideas and start building something positive.
Meeting details 📅 Date: Monday 19th October 🕒 Time: 7.30pm 📍 Venue: Snooker Room, New Greens Social Club, 2 High Oaks, New Greens. AL3 6DL Please let me know if you can make it as I will need to set up the room. Text me on 07939244554
Please do come along, even if you feel you have not been particularly active in Neighbourhood Watch recently. Everyone’s experience and ideas are valuable, and there is absolutely no expectation that you need to take on more work!
B&NG! And one more thing — have you discovered B&NG? I’d also love to introduce you to the New Greens Resident’s Association’s ‘Batchwood & New Greens Newsletter’, which shares local news, community activities, events and information about what’s happening on our doorstep. It’s a great way to stay connected with the wider community, and I would encourage you to have a read and share it with your neighbours. Read B&NG here:
I’m really looking forward to meeting you, hearing your ideas and seeing what we can achieve together. A strong community starts with neighbours knowing neighbours. Please let me know if you can make it - I don’t want anyone feeling they have to stand! Damiangaskin@mac.com or text 07939 244554
Best wishes, Damian Gaskin Neighbourhood Watch Area Coordinator – Batchwood and Central St Albans
