Property Marking & Registration Survey |
||
|
Dear Resident How do you protect your valuables if they are lost or stolen? West Yorkshire Police is carrying out a short survey to understand how aware residents are of property registration and marking schemes such as Immobilise, Bike Register, SmartWater and other similar platforms. Registering and marking your property can help police identify ownership when items are recovered, making it easier to return them to their rightful owners and reducing the market for stolen goods. West Yorkshire Police works with a number of platforms and we want to understand what the public is aware of and uses. For tradespeople for example, tool theft continues to cause significant disruption and financial loss. Police regularly recover suspected stolen tools during warrants, vehicle stops and criminal investigations, but many cannot be reunited with their owners because they are not marked or registered. A simple property marking and registration scheme could make the difference between getting your tools back or losing them forever. Whether you already use a property marking scheme, have never heard of one, or would consider using one in future, we'd like to hear your views. Please take a minute to complete our three-question survey. Your feedback will help shape future crime prevention activity across our communities.
