Reading Town Centre Neighbourhood Team Update

Reading Town Centre Neighbourhood Team Update

We've been busy over the past week, focusing on the issues that matter most to our community.

You told us that e-bikes in the town centre were a concern, so we listened. Officers carried out a targeted operation, resulting in the seizure of 9 e-bikes and 7 e-scooters, helping to improve safety for everyone.

The team also executed a warrant at an address linked to suspected drug activity... An investigation is ongoing.

We've continued working with our partners, including a joint operation with Immigration Enforcement, attending Pubwatch meetings alongside local pubs, bars and security staff, and engaging with residents at a Safer Neighbourhood Forum.

Officers have issued a number of out-of-court disposals, supported Response colleagues with a variety of incidents, and completed extensive case-building work to support the Retail Crime Team in bringing shoplifters before the courts.

And finally... we've done A LOT of steps around the town centre! 👟 Between patrols, operations, meetings and supporting our communities, we've certainly been keeping active while working to make Reading town centre a safer place for everyone.

Thank you to everyone who continues to report concerns and speak with us while we're out on patrol.
