Local officer update and upcoming surgery - 30/10/26

Dear Resident,

I just wanted to provide another brief update on what local officers have been involved with in the town over the last couple of weeks.

Officers seized an e-bike that has been frequenting the town centre area - a 16 year old male remains under investigation for traffic offences in relation to this.

Officers attended Charlotte Court following reports of a disturbance - a 26 year old female was arrested and subsequently charged with drunk and disorderly. Alcohol was seized from others present and disposed of under the PSPO powers.

Officers attended a report of shoplifting at Waitrose, resulting in the arrest of a 60 year old male, who has since been charged.

Officers detained and arrested a 16 year old male for possession of bladed article - Weapon seized and charges brought in Ramsgate | Kent Police

Officers have seized 5 e-scooters being used in and around the town centre

Officers conducted a welfare check at an address in the town, resulting in the arrest of a 22 year old male for drug supply offences - for which he remains under investigation

Officers detained and searched a group of youths acting in an anti-social manner in the town centre area - resulting in the seizure of both cannabis and ketamine

Officers located and detained a prolific shoplifter in the town, resulting in the recovery of stolen goods from the Asda store - this offence remains under investigation

On Tuesday 13th October 2026, I was joined on patrol by Chief Inspector Cokayne-Delves, who will be the new district commander for Thanet.

We had a productive morning on patrol in the town, engaging with local business owners and members of the public. Several matters were dealt with, including a male outstanding on a court warrant and a male outstanding for shoplifting, for which an interview is to be arranged. Officers also assisted with a report of criminal damage at an address in the town, which was safely resolved.

Officer presence in the town also identified a known prolific shoplifter, which resulted in the arrest of a 43 year old female for shoplifting, for which she has now been charged.

Finally, just a reminder of the upcoming surgery taking place in the town centre on Friday 30th October 2026, between 15:00 and 16:00 hours. Please do come along to raise any concerns you may have and to find out what officers are doing to tackle the issues that matter to you.

Everyone is welcome and please share this message on to anyone that you would feel would benefit from attendance by using the share button below.
