Bordesley Green Neighbourhood Team - Staffing update

Bordesley Green Neighbourhood Team - Staffing update

All,

It has been some time since i have sent out an update around the neighbourhood team. It has been mentioned in community meetings over the last month or two.

We have had the pleasure of welcoming PC Washbrook to the team who has joined us from Response. He has been with us for around 2 weeks now and has quickly gotten to know the area and trying to tackle our problem offenders!

PCSO Alex Eyitene and PCSO Hussain have also joined the team last week. They are keen to further support our schools and young people whilst engaging local businesses and our community. Very quickly they have disrupted the use of stolen vehicles by seizing quite a few this week.

The addition of these three will assist in furthering the work we have already done over the last few years in trying to better the community we serve.

Whilst these additions are fantastic news, we are also saying goodbye to some. PC Burton who has been on the team for a few years now will be moving on to be an offender manager when she returns from maternity leave. We wish her all the best!

The last is myself. I have been successful in getting a new role to better support our workforce and therefore ensure our communities get the service they deserve. I will remain here until the 1st December. Following this, the inspector will support until a replacement is found. I genuinely leave Bordesley Green with a heavy heart and it was not an easy decision. I have been here for nearly three years now and have had the pleasure to meet so many wonderful community members but also look to try and fix what has been a community somewhat abandoned for a long time. It hasn't been perfect or always achieved that goal however, id like to think the heart has always been there. I have worked really hard with this team to ensure they hold the same values as i do and understand the importance of the role and the work we do. I am quite confident that i am no longer needed to see the success required. Many don't know but i was born just off of our patch on Cyril Road, my family were from here and i took great pride in being able to come back and work with you all. It has been a privilege to lead this team and ill cherish that.

Regards

Sgt Allen
