Remember, Remember.....Fireworks & Bonfire night

Dear Resident,

We often get an increase in calls regarding fireworks around this time of year, not just on Bonfire Night itself.

Please remember the below and follow the safety tips:

It is illegal to sell fireworks to anyone under 18 years of age. Maximum penalty of £5000 and/or six months in prison

It is illegal to let off a firework in a public place and carries a fine of up to £5000 or a £90 Fixed Penalty Notice.

It is illegal to set off fireworks between 11pm and 7am- Bonfire Night 7am to midnight

Attend organised displays where possible- Wear bright and reflective clothing

Keep a safe distance from bonfires, sparklers and firework

Never return to a firework once it has been lit

Children should be supervised by a responsible adult at all times

Wear gloves when handling sparklers and hold them at arm's length

Put used sparklers in a bucket of cold water once they have cooled down

Keep pets indoors and create a quiet, safe space for them

Be considerate of neighbours, livestock and wildlife

Brookside SNT will be on patrol throughout this week and on Bonfire Night. We hope you have a safe and enjoyable time, but please be considerate to others.
