Rogue traders

Rogue traders

Resident

Good afternoon,

Rogue traders are operating in the area,

Protect yourself by following these simple steps:

Never agree to work from an unsolicited doorstep caller.

Do not feel pressured into making an immediate decision. Genuine traders will allow you time to consider quotes.

Obtain at least three written quotes before agreeing to any work.

Ask for identification, references and proof of insurance.

Check reviews and credentials independently.

Never pay cash upfront and avoid paying the full amount before work is completed satisfactorily.

Be wary of claims that work is urgently needed, especially concerning roofs, driveways, gutters or trees.

Discuss any major work with a trusted family member, friend or neighbour before agreeing.

If you feel intimidated or suspicious, close the door and contact the police via 101. If you feel threatened or in immediate danger, dial 999.

Help keep your village safe by looking out for elderly and vulnerable neighbours

Feel free to share with family and friends and via your social media.

One Village, One Community, One Stand Against Crime.

Kind Regards,

PC Kevin BEATTY 15505
