Smart Alert Update - Door Knocking in Codsall

Further to the Smart Alert issued earlier regarding individuals calling at properties in Codsall during the evening, we have now verified that the callers were legitimately working on behalf of the British Red Cross.

However, concerns have been raised regarding the time of these visits, particularly as some residents were approached after dark. These concerns have been passed on to the organisation.

We would like to remind residents to remain vigilant and follow basic home security advice:

Do not open your door to anyone you are not expecting, particularly after dark.

Use a door chain where fitted.

Look through a window, door viewer, or CCTV system before opening the door.

Ask callers to provide identification and verify their details if you are unsure.

If you feel uncomfortable or suspicious, do not open the door.

Your safety is always the priority. If you have any concerns about callers at your property, please report them to us via the appropriate channels.
