A257 - Proactive Work

Good afternoon, 

I just wanted to share an update of some work myself and PC Eyre-Jackson have been conducting on the A257 today between some awful weather conditions. 

Our day started with speed enforcement on the 50mph stretch close to Wingham Wildlfie Park. We commenced our checks at 07:30 hours, and dealt with speeding drivers. The fastest recorded speed was 84mph. All offending drivers were stopped and issued Traffic Offence Reports (TORs) for excess speed. 

Following this, we stopped another driver further along the A257. The driver of this was a disqualified driver. Due to this, his vehicle was seized by police, and the driver will be attending a police station for a voluntary police interview in due course. 

With the worsening weather conditions and colder months ahead, road safety across the district is paramount. We will be out at various locations across the local area at different times of day conducting speed checks as well as vehicle condition checks and will robustly deal with those who choose to make our roads a less safer place.
