Good Afternoon all,
Aldridge Neighbourhood Police Team have been very busy on this set of shifts. We would like to share some of the work that we have been doing across our four wards -
Aldridge Central & South
Targeted patrols of Aldridge Village Shopping Centre have been conducted due to reports of youth antisocial behaviour, we have engaged with various groups of youths, taken details of those involved in this behaviour, and requested the relevant CCTV footage of the incidents. We have continued our community hub working at Aldridge Community Centre & Aldridge Library. Officers saw a Surron bike being driven dangerously along Portland Road. The driver has been reported for multiple traffic offences including driving a motor vehicle with a passenger dangerously. The bike was quickly seized for destruction.
During late night patrols around Aldridge Airport, officers spotted the driver of a moped acting suspiciously. The vehicle made off and was later found abandoned with a false number plate. The moped was seized along with the small axe inside the seat compartment.
Aldridge North & Walsall Wood
Targeted patrols of KFC & Oak Park are ongoing. KFC staff & security suffer youth antisocial behaviour regularly at this restaurant. We engaged with youths to discuss the impact of their behaviour on staff & restaurant users such as young families, talking about how they would feel if it was their own relatives who felt intimidated by others behaviour. We hope this makes them more mindful in the future.
Pheasey Park Farm
Officers on the team were on targeted patrols and spotted a bike being driven recklessly along Beacon Road into Pheasey. Officers later detained the driver and seized the vehicle. The driver was reported for a number of traffic offences.
Partners came together to conduct a further site visit and discuss actions going forward at Nether Hall Avenue, where local residents are concerned about off road vehicles and youths accessing the private land at the rear of the estate around Suttons Drive. Criminal damage has been caused to the fencing at the location. Talks are ongoing with the landowners and our own prevention hub around ways to combat issues.
Officers came across a van on Sutton Road, checks showed that it was stolen, so officers lifted it for forensic analysis.
We are aware of youth antisocial behaviour causing concerns in the vicinity of Collingwood Community Centre. We are working with our partners to take a joint approach on this to eradicate it and identify those involved.
Streetly
Targeted patrols are being carried out around Blackwood Park & shops, Streetly playing fields, near the community centre & sports association with regard to reports from concerned residents about youth antisocial behaviour.
Officers on patrol of the area seized a small dropside lorry due to it having no tax and no front registration plate.
ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOUR
Anti-social behaviour (ASB) is conduct by a person or persons that causes, or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm, or distress to someone who does not live in the same household.
Antisocial behaviour takes many forms. From aggressive, noisy or abusive behaviour (including vehicles, bicycles, e-bikes and e-scooters) to neighbourhood disturbances involving drugs, abandoned cars or animals. If you’ve witnessed antisocial behaviour, please report it to us. Your neighbourhood can be an area where you live, work, or visit often.
IF ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOUR OF ANY NATURE AFFECTS YOU, DONT SUFFER IT IN SILENCE, REPORT IT TO US!
