Vehicle and Home safety

Good afternoon all,

There have been several reports lately regarding a suspicious male in the area of LONGFIELD. I send this to you all as you border each other. This male has been seen walking down roads late at night into the early morning, entering driveways and checking vehicle door handles. If the vehicle was open the male would proceed to take any items of value from the vehicles. Since the incident police have attended the area, obtained numerous CCTV evidence and are making every effort to identify this male and get him off the streets to protect the public. We have had numerous marked and unmarked patrols since the incident.

Although we feel this is an isolated incident we would like to put out the following safety advice:

Keep your doors and windows locked of house and car.

Try to obtain CCTV, ring doorbells (other brands are available) and dash cams.

Have security lights around your homes.

ring 999 in case of any emergency, if it is not ring 101 or report online.

if on holiday do not post about it on social media until back at home, let trusted friends/neighbours know your away in the case of emergencies.

do not post personal information online.

keep valuables out of sight of windows and remove them from your vehicles when parked.

obtain faraday bags to keep keys and banks cards within to block signals being transmitted.

Kind regards

PC SWAN
