Halloween and Bonfire night

Halloween and Bonfire night

Hello Kidsgrove Resident

As Halloween and Bonfire Night approach, we would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable time. These celebrations are a fantastic opportunity for families and communities to come together, but we ask that everyone remains considerate of others and takes a few simple precautions to stay safe.

🎃 Trick or Treating Safety

If you're heading out trick or treating:

✅ Always go with a responsible adult or in a group if you're older.
✅ Stick to well-lit areas and familiar routes.
✅ Only visit homes that appear welcoming to trick or treaters, such as those with Halloween decorations.
✅ Wear bright or reflective clothing so motorists can see you clearly.
✅ Be mindful of road safety when crossing streets and moving between houses.
✅ Respect residents who do not wish to take part and never enter someone's property without permission.

🎆 Firework Safety

If you're attending a display or using fireworks at home:

✅ Attend organised public displays wherever possible.
✅ Follow the Firework Code and always read instructions carefully.
✅ Keep fireworks in a closed box and away from children.
✅ Never return to a firework once it has been lit.
✅ Keep pets indoors where possible and ensure they have a safe, quiet place to retreat to.
✅ Be considerate of neighbours, particularly young children, elderly residents, and those who may be sensitive to loud noises.

🚨 Anti-Social Behaviour

We also ask parents and guardians to know where their children are and encourage respectful behaviour throughout the celebrations. Incidents involving fireworks being misused, criminal damage, or anti-social behaviour will be dealt with robustly.

Let's work together to ensure everyone can enjoy the festivities safely and respectfully.

Have a safe, fun, and enjoyable Halloween and Bonfire Night 🎃🎇👮‍♂️👮‍♀️
