Community Foot Patrol in Icknield Drive, Ilford

PCSO Naz and PCSO Martin carried out a foot patrol around Icknield Drive, Ilford, where we distributed a large number of crime prevention leaflets promoting Met Engage and vehicle security advice. We also delivered leaflets through residents' letterboxes and had some great conversations with local people.

It is always rewarding to see how much residents appreciate a visible police presence in their neighbourhood. Many people tell us that seeing local officers on patrol helps them feel safer and more reassured.

Building positive relationships within our communities is a key part of neighbourhood

policing. When residents know who their local officers are and feel comfortable speaking with us, it helps to strengthen trust, confidence, and communication between the police and the community.

As officers, we understand exactly why this matters. If I were a resident, I would also want to see my local officers walking the streets, engaging with the community, and being approachable. Together, we can continue to make our neighbourhoods safer and stronger.

Have a great day
