A Section 35 Dispersal Zone has been authorised for the Oval area, covering all roads bounded by Blackfen Road, Days Lane, Oaklands Avenue, Collindale Avenue, Rowley Avenue and Harcourt Avenue.

This decision follows ongoing concerns regarding anti-social behaviour and low-level criminality involving groups of youths in the area. Recent incidents have included masonry from nearby roadworks and eggs being thrown at vehicles and local businesses, causing damage, disruption and significant concern for residents. One local business was forced to close early as a result of this behaviour.

Historically, incidents increase during school holiday periods and escalate further around Halloween and Bonfire Night. The use of dispersal powers will enable officers to take proactive action to prevent further disorder, reduce harm and protect our local communities.

We will continue to work with partners, residents and businesses to tackle anti-social behaviour and ensure the area remains safe for everyone.
