🚨 Neighbourhood Alert | Halloween Safety Advice 🎃

As Halloween approaches, we would like to remind residents to celebrate safely and show consideration for others in the community.

Many people enjoy taking part in Halloween activities, but not everyone chooses to celebrate. Please respect your neighbours and local area.

⚠️ Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated. Throwing eggs, flour, fireworks or other objects at people, homes or vehicles is not a harmless prank and may constitute criminal damage or other offences.

👻 If You're Going Trick or Treating

Children should be accompanied by a responsible adult wherever possible.

Only visit homes that are clearly welcoming trick-or-treaters.

Respect signs stating “No Trick or Treat.”

Stay on well-lit routes and in familiar areas.

Avoid shortcuts through parks, alleyways, gardens or other isolated locations.

Take extra care near roads and traffic.

Ensure masks and costumes do not restrict your vision or hearing.

Carry a torch and, where possible, a fully charged mobile phone.

🏠 If You're Staying at Home

Do not open the door if you are unsure who is outside.

Check through a window, spy hole or doorbell camera first.

Consider using a door chain when answering the door.

Keep contact details for a trusted friend, family member or neighbour close by.

📞 Reporting Concerns

If you witness anti-social behaviour, criminal damage, or other criminal activity, please report it to us via 101.

In an emergency, or where a crime is in progress, always call 999.
