We wanted to share a quick update about dangerous driving in your area. Please be assured we’re working to keep everyone safe. During the afternoon of Wednesday 21/10/26 between around 4pm & 5pm officers from our Road Danger Reduction Team were conducting speed checks in Wickham Way. Seven drivers were stopped for driving at speeds ranging from 41 to 43 mph. Many residents have raised concerns with us about speeding on Wickham Way. Hopefully this & other speed checks will send a message to drivers that driving too fast is dangerous and will be dealt with. If you have concerns re speeding in any roads please contact us & we will add it to our list of roads. If you notice a vehicle speeding & are able to provide details ie registration, make, model, colour please let us know. Even if we're unable to take formal action we can still issue words of advice if able to trace the owner. Stay safe and please feel free to contact us re any matters relating to crime and/or public safety. Remember if it's an emergency or a crime's happening please call 999. For crime reporting if you discover it long after it's happened and non urgent matters please call 101 or report online. Thank you to all those who bought this matter to our attention & to our colleagues in the Road Danger Reduction Team for their assistance. If someone is driving a motor vehicle, they should always be doing so in a safe and considerate manner. Even momentary lapses in judgement can have life changing or devastating consequences for those in the vehicle or innocent bystanders.
Activities such as street racing, cruising or performing tricks can count as anti-social behaviour. If you are concerned about this in your area, visit our website for the latest guidance.
