‘Winter Driving. Are you prepared?’ Message from Nigel Lloyd-Jones, Lead Mature Driver Workstream, Gloucestershire Road Safety Partnership
The Older Drivers Forum invites mature drivers, their families and anyone supporting older people to join our free community webinar. As the clocks go back, a familiar journey may mean driving in the dark. Low sun, headlamp glare, rain, fog and icy mornings can make driving more demanding. The webinar asks a simple question: before the first frosty morning or a challenging drive home, are we prepared for winter driving? Drivers will be encouraged to think about three areas – the Driver, the Vehicle and the Journey – and will share practical tips to help make winter journeys safer and more relaxed, supporting the independence that driving brings. This webinar includes the latest advice about; prescription medicines and fitness to drive, winter tyres, gritted routes, headlamp glare and advice for EV and hybrid owners preparing for their first winter.
