On 21st October, officers from the Ealing Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) conducted a Live Facial Recognition (LFR) operation in Southall. The operation resulted in the arrest of five wanted males and one wanted female.
Following their arrests, searches identified one suspect in possession of Class A drugs and a Rambo-style knife, a second suspect in possession of Class B drugs, and a further individual who was confirmed to be registered on the Sex Offenders Register. The operation once again demonstrated the effectiveness of LFR technology, not only in locating wanted offenders but also in identifying and disrupting wider criminality.
This was the third LFR deployment in Southall in the last four months, with the combined results now standing at 22 arrests. In addition, officers have stopped and verified the conditions of seven registered sex offenders, further highlighting the value of LFR as a highly effective tool in identifying wanted individuals, safeguarding communities and bringing offenders to justice within Southall.
