Coordinator Update: New South Derbyshire burglary text alerts pilot

Coordinator Update: New South Derbyshire burglary text alerts pilot

Dear Coordinator,

We've got some great news for our South Derbyshire Neighbourhood Watch Coordinators!

As part of our Darker Nights campaign, we're introducing a new burglary text alert pilot to help keep our communities better informed and support our efforts to reduce burglary across South Derbyshire.

This new initiative means that when suitable burglary incidents are identified, registered Coordinators participating in the pilot will receive a text message with information they can pass on to their Watch members. Please note this will only happen for Co-ordinators and Co-ordinators who have a mobile phone registered on the system.

How will it work?

Our aim is to make it easier for you to keep your neighbours informed about what is happening locally, encourage greater awareness and help communities take sensible steps to protect their homes.

What do you need to do?
Please make sure we have your correct mobile telephone number and up-to-date Coordinator details so you can be included where eligible.

When you receive an alert, we'd encourage you to share the approved information with your members as soon as practical, without adding unverified details.

Your role really does make a difference.

Whether you coordinate a handful of houses or a whole neighbourhood, helping residents stay informed and connected is an important part of building safer communities.

Thank you for everything you do as a volunteer Coordinator. We're delighted to be introducing this pilot and hope it will become another valuable tool for our Watches.

If you have any questions or need to update your details, please get in touch.

Kind regards,

Derbyshire Neighbourhood Watch Team

Please note: Only burglary incidents deemed suitable for the pilot messaging system will be shared. Not every reported incident will generate an alert.
