Security matters - remember to put your clocks back tonight... |

Remember to put your clocks back by 1 hour just before you go to bed tonight, but remember that this should also include security devices that are not synced to internet time. So many burglaries that we see on our borough begin with one simple thing - the burglars drive past the house at a time when most people would be expected to be in, and yet the house is in total darkness. Mechanical timeswitches need to be adjusted so that they come on a good 30 minutes before the published sunset time, and then remember to adjust the on-time by about 15 minutes weekly, all the way through to the longest day on 21st December. The BBC weather page shows the sunset time each day. If your CCTV system isn't synced to internet time then many of them can in fact be set to do this, it's just that this extremely useful feature (usually under DST or Daylight Saving Time) hasn't been enabled by the installer. If the time doesn't automatically adjust tomorrow then check the make and model of your device and then chcek the manual. | ||
