Operation Zoridon: Tackling Retail Crime Across Ealing Borough |

The Metropolitan Police has arrested 42 people and secured closure notices for 11 shops during a two-week operation targeting those suspected of buying and reselling stolen goods across London. Around 400 businesses were visited and officers recovered tens of thousands of pounds worth of suspected stolen property. Known as Operation Zoridon, the activity focused on disrupting every stage of the retail crime chain, from prolific shoplifters to those who profit from the sale of stolen goods. Intelligence gathered by the Met showed that some offenders were stealing specific products to order, helping to fuel organised criminality and impacting businesses across the capital. Working alongside retailers and partners, officers carried out warrants, licensing inspections and enforcement activity, leading to arrests, business closures and the seizure of suspected stolen goods, cash, mobile phones, tools, weapons and drugs. Retail crime is not a victimless offence. It affects local businesses, staff and customers, and can contribute to wider criminality within our communities. Activity such as Operation Zoridon helps protect legitimate businesses and disrupt those who seek to profit from crime. Over the coming days, we will be sharing updates from across Southall, Ealing, Acton, and Greenford, Northolt and Perivale, highlighting how local neighbourhood officers have supported efforts to tackle retail crime and protect businesses across Ealing Borough.
