🐝 Coffee with a cop - Chinatown ASB

On Friday 23rd October 2026 at 3:00pm, a Coffee with a Cop event was held at Pinwei Restaurant in Chinatown. The event was attended by representatives from the Council, local stakeholders, businesses, and members of the community, providing an opportunity to discuss ongoing anti-social behaviour (ASB) concerns and community safety issues within the area.

🏗️ Council representatives provided updates on ARCH construction works, 💡 street lighting improvements, and 📹 CCTV provision across Chinatown. An EVA inspection was also carried out to review existing CCTV coverage and identify opportunities to strengthen surveillance capabilities and support crime prevention efforts.

🤝 The event encouraged positive engagement between partners and the local community, helping to increase confidence in reporting crime and ASB while promoting greater information sharing. Attendees discussed the importance of continued partnership working to address community concerns and improve feelings of safety.

Ongoing enforcement and prevention activity was also discussed, including regular weapons sweeps, high-visibility night-time patrols, and the use of higher-ground observation points to support patrol deployment and monitor areas of concern.
