Darker Nights Are Here - Stay Safe This Autumn |

As the clocks have gone back and the evenings are darker earlier, we're encouraging everyone to take a few simple steps to stay safe and help protect their property.
✅ Be aware of your surroundings when walking, particularly if you're travelling alone. Stick to well-lit routes where possible. ✅ Make yourself visible to motorists and cyclists by wearing reflective or bright clothing when out walking, running, or cycling. ✅ Ensure your home is secure by locking doors and windows, even when you're at home. Consider using timer switches on lights to give the impression someone is in. ✅ If you see suspicious activity in your neighbourhood, report it to police. Your information could help prevent crime. ✅ Check on elderly or vulnerable neighbours who may feel more isolated during the darker months. As your local Safer Neighbourhood Team, we're continuing to patrol the area and work with residents to keep our communities safe. If a crime is in progress, call 999. For non-emergencies, report online or call 101.
