Seasonal update from your local Neighbourhood Team |

Hello Resident,
With Halloween and Bonfire Night just around the corner, we wanted to give you an update in regards to what we've been doing in preparation and what to look out for coming up.
✅ Good News from Your Local Policing Team ✅ Summary: Yesterday on Tuesday 27th of October two of your local team were out visiting stores we know are selling fireworks in the local area. We spoke to store staff, ensured fireworks were being kept in appropriate and safe places within the store, and checked that staff knew who it was not appropriate to be selling fireworks to.
Why It Matters: This time of year we commonly see large amounts of firework related anti-social behaviour and the dangerous use of fireworks. It's especially important that any fireworks purchased are being used safely and handled by a responsible adult. Making sure that stores know not to sell fireworks to children, and to challenge anyone who they think might be planning to use them for an anti-social or dangerous purpose can help reduce the risk to members of the public at this time of year.
📅 Upcoming Police & Community Engagements 📅 We have three upcoming Cuppas with a Copper in each of our three neighbourhood areas. We're also hosting our first Cuppa at the John White Centre in Binley so feel free to come and say hello. These are the perfect opportunity to make your local neighbourhood officers aware of what is going on in your area and raise concerns that might have been missed.
🚨 Crime & Safety Updates — What You Need to Know 🚨
✅ Crime Prevention Tips: With the nights getting longer, we're receiving more reports of offenders trying car door handles or breaking into vehicle late at night. Remember to keep your vehicle locked when you're not with it, remove any valuables from inside and ensure there is nothing on display from the outside. Even loose change is worth tidying up and can be the cause for a vehicle to be broken into.
If you see something you think is suspicious, report it! It only takes a few minutes and it can help ensure that we know what is going on in your local area.
Remember to check your car lights regularly for faults and get them replaced. Darker and longer nights can result in more collisions due to broken head, tail and break lights. It only takes a few minutes a week and helps keep you, other road users and pedestrians safe.
