Violence against women and girls update

Violence against women and girls update

I wanted to provide an update regarding violence against women and girls, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

On Friday 30th of October 2026 Clapham East and Clapham Town safer neighbour hood teams will be conducting a pop up event for violence against women and girls as well as a bike marking pop up stand. As we come into the winter period your local safer neighbourhood teams wish to find out about how people feel in around your local common. We look forward to seeing you at this event and would be happy to speak about any issues that arise.

We take violence against women and girls incredibly seriously and will do everything in our power to ensure those who commit these crimes see justice. Please visit our website for the latest advice and guidance. If you have been the victim or have witnessed a crime, it is very important that you report this as early as possible. We also provide advice for everyone on how to keep one another safe.

We want your help to shape the future of policing across London. We are seeking your views on our new inclusion strategy to ensure that the Met is a police service that is trusted, representative and more effective at keeping London safe. You can have your say on our Inclusion Strategy consultation which runs until Thursday 26 November.
