🎃 Halloween, Nuisance Week & Trick-or-Treating Advice 🎃 |

|
Good afternoon Resident,
Halloween is nearly here, which means ghosts, ghouls, witches, zombies, and what can only be described as an alarming quantity of sweets will soon be appearing across our communities!
We want everyone to have a happy, spooky and safe Halloween, and for young people to enjoy themselves while being respectful of others.
Whilst many households love seeing trick-or-treaters at their door, it's important to remember that not everyone wants a Halloween visitor. Some residents may be elderly, vulnerable, have young children sleeping, be working unsociable hours, or simply prefer a quiet evening at home.
To help with this, we've attached a "Sorry, No Trick or Treat Here" poster. If you see this displayed at a property, please respect the resident's wishes and move on to the next house. A good trick-or-treater knows that being respectful is every bit as important as collecting sweets!
A few simple tips to keep Halloween fun for everyone: 🎃 Stick to well-lit and familiar areas. 👻 Go out with friends, family or a responsible adult where appropriate. 🚪 Only knock on doors where you feel welcome and avoid properties displaying a "No Trick or Treat" sign. 🏡 Never enter a stranger's house. 🍬 Be polite and respectful, even if nobody answers the door. 🚗 Take extra care near roads, particularly if costumes affect your vision or are difficult for drivers to see. 😈 Remember, the clue is in the word "nuisance". Tricks should stay firmly on the fun side of the line. Throwing eggs, flour, damaging property, banging on windows, causing harassment or upsetting residents isn't a Halloween prank, it's anti-social behaviour and could result in police involvement.
We'd much rather hear about your best costume than investigate complaints of ASB! Most importantly, look after your friends, respect your neighbours and enjoy the evening safely. From all of us in the Safer Neighbourhood Team, we wish you a happy, spooky and safe Halloween! 🎃👮♀️👻 | ||
