Dear Residents
As part of the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Strategy, we recognise the vital role that the public plays in helping us identify and tackle VAWG-related concerns within their communities. Listening to the experiences of women and girls provides valuable insight into where issues are occurring, enabling us to better target resources, problem-solve effectively, and make our communities safer.
Over recent years, we have seen increased trust and engagement between women and girls and the police. Reporting levels have risen, and our collective response continues to demonstrate our commitment to preventing and reducing violence against women and girls.
Previously, we utilised a Smart Survey titled "Have Your Say in Tackling VAWG", which was broken down by BCU area. This provided local officers with detailed information to support targeted deployments and problem-solving activity within their wards. The survey gathered valuable intelligence relating to: The survey also proved to be an effective engagement tool, supporting conversations between officers and members of the public during VAWG-related activities and deployments.
We are now pleased to confirm that this survey has now been launched on Met Engage. This aligns with the wider migration of public engagement activity onto Met Engage in accordance with Communications and Engagement guidance.

Met Engage has already proven to be an effective platform for communicating with members of the public who have signed up to receive updates and information about local policing matters. VAWG continues to be highlighted as a key concern by many communities, and this survey will provide an opportunity for the public to share their experiences and concerns directly with local policing teams. Responses will be accessible to local officers, enabling them to identify issues, create taskings, and take appropriate action where required.
What We Are Asking We would be grateful for your support in ensuring that this survey is promoted across: The survey will be hosted on Met Engage and accompanied by a shareable link that can be provided to members of the public, regardless of whether they are registered on the platform.
This will allow Neighbourhood Teams to review any data on a weekly basis and take action where appropriate in relation to issues identified within their areas. Examples may include: We also ask that survey themes, notable outcomes, identified taskings, and any good news stories are reported through and discussed at quarterly BCU VAWG Boards.
Thank you in advance for your continued support. We know the importance that BCUs place on tackling Violence Against Women and Girls, and we hope this survey will become a valuable tool in helping us identify concerns, enhance community engagement, and reduce offending. Yours sincerely,
Parsons Green and Sandford SNT. | ||
