Hi everyone
The next Newbury Neighbourhood Watch / West Berkshire Neighbourhood Watch Meeting is being held on Wednesday 18 November 2026 starting at 7.15 pm in Kersey Hall at the Waterside Centre, Waldegrave Place, Northbrook Street, Newbury RG14 1DS (entrance down the side of Camp Hopson).
There is no parking available at the Waterside Centre but several car parks close by.
Our Guest Speakers will be:
Dave Stubbs speaking about Sulhamstead Police Museum
Ian Empson of Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service who will cover some of the types of fires and other incidents they attend
There will be a crime update from the Police
If you have any particular issues that you would like comments on, please let me know so that the speakers can do some research and report back at the meeting.
Anyone is welcome to attend this meeting from all over West Berkshire, so please come along and bring any neighbours or friends, as it is important to have a good attendance for the speakers and I do appreciate your support.
Also advance notice that we shall be holding Neighbourhood Watch meetings on Wednesday 17 March, Wednesday 14 July and Wednesday 17 November 2027. Please note these dates in your diary.
As Thames Valley Police no longer accept bikes that have been found by a member of the public or take reports of lost bikes, the Police use The National Cycle Database www.bikeregister.com to check bikes, found or known to have been stolen and repatriate the bike to its legal owner. If you find a bike, please check this website to see if this has been registered and reported as stolen. Please register your bikes on the bikeregister website. Leaflet attached.
There is also IMMOBILISE NATIONAL PROPERTY REGISTER where bikes and other items can be registered on www.immobilise.com
If you do not have a Neighbourhood Watch scheme in your road and can set one up for me please, I can forward you more details. A scheme can be anything from 5 properties upwards and the main role of a Coordinator is to circulate the Alerts on crimes and scams to your neighbours either via email or posting on a WhatsApp or Facebook Group for your area. You will receive free signs, stickers, leaflets and discounts for your neighbours.
National Neighbourhood Watch have a website: www.ourwatch.org.uk which contains lots of useful information.
Very many thanks and best wishes
