Working together to tackle rural crime |

Today, North Yorkshire Police welcomed partners from across the country to our Rural Crime Conference at Askham Bryan College in York.
Led by Chief Constable Tim Forber, the event brought together representatives from the NFU, police forces, local authorities, rural organisations, businesses and community groups to discuss the challenges facing rural communities and how we can continue to work together to tackle rural crime.
This year’s conference was particularly significant as it marks 10 years of North Yorkshire Police’s Rural Task Force, which has spent the last decade protecting communities, targeting offenders and supporting victims across our county.
Chief Inspector Alex Langley from North Yorkshire Police's Operational Support said: "Today’s conference has been a real success, bringing together partners from across the country who share our commitment to protecting rural communities. Rural crime remains a priority for North Yorkshire Police, and events like this allow us to strengthen the relationships, intelligence sharing and joint working that are essential in tackling offenders.
"As we look ahead, we will continue to work closely with our partners to prevent crime, target those responsible and intercept criminal activity before it impacts our communities. By combining our resources, expertise and local knowledge, we can make North Yorkshire an increasingly hostile environment for those who seek to commit crime in our rural areas."
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to today's discussions and shared commitment to keeping our rural communities safe.
