🎃 HALLOWEEN SAFETY ADVICE - HAVE FUN AND STAY SAFE THIS HALLOWEEN 🎃 Halloween is a great opportunity for families, friends and communities to enjoy a fun evening of trick-or-treating and celebrations. If you're heading out this Halloween, please take a few simple steps to keep yourself and others safe. 👻 Stay Safe While Trick-or-Treating • Children should always be accompanied by a responsible adult. • Stick to well-lit routes and remain aware of your surroundings. • Cross roads at designated crossing points and avoid distractions from mobile phones. • Consider reflective clothing, glow sticks or torches to help you be seen in the dark. • Only visit homes that appear to be welcoming trick-or-treaters and always respect residents' wishes. 🎭 Costume Safety • Ensure costumes fit properly to prevent trips and falls. • Avoid masks that restrict vision. • Keep costumes away from naked flames, candles and other ignition sources. • Use face paint that is suitable for skin use and test products beforehand. 🏠 For Residents • If you do not wish to receive trick-or-treaters, consider displaying a sign or leaving your porch light off. • Keep pathways clear and well-lit for visitors. • Secure valuable property and ensure doors and windows remain locked when appropriate. 🚫 Respect Your Community Halloween should be enjoyable for everyone. Antisocial behaviour, criminal damage, nuisance knocking, throwing objects, or intimidating behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in police action. 📞 Reporting Crime or Antisocial Behaviour • In an emergency or if a crime is in progress, call 999. • For non-emergency incidents, contact police via 101 or report online. • Ongoing antisocial behaviour can also be reported through the Metropolitan Police website. Let's work together to make Halloween a safe, enjoyable and respectful occasion for everyone in our community. 🎃👻 Happy Halloween from your local neighbourhood policing team!
