Burglary Awareness

Burglary Awareness

There has been a noticeable rise in burglaries and reports of suspicious activity on the Shipston Beat area. I would like to remind everyone of the importance of remaining vigilant and taking appropriate measures to protect our land, homes, buildings and personal property.

Please take the following precautions:

Ensure all gates, doors, windows and outbuildings are securely locked.

Install and maintain suitable security lighting, CCTV and alarm systems where possible.

Secure valuable equipment, machinery, vehicles and tools, keeping them out of sight whenever possible.

Regularly inspect boundaries, fences, gates and access points for signs of interference or damage.

Report suspicious vehicles, individuals or unusual activity to the police promptly.

Keep a record and photographs of valuable property and equipment.

Work together with neighbours and the local community to share relevant information and raise awareness.

Please do not confront suspected intruders. If you witness a burglary in progress or believe there is an immediate threat, contact the police on 999. For non-emergency incidents, call 101.

By remaining alert, taking preventative action and looking out for one another, we can help reduce the risk of further incidents and make our community a safer place.

Thank you.
