🚔 Catapults, Foot Chases, and nearly a lap around Singleton Lakes... 🚔 Ashford Neighbourhood Officers have recently received reports of catapults being used in the Singleton and Stanhope areas. Whilst on patrol, officers spotted a group who quickly decided they didn't want to stop and speak with police, making off from officers on foot. Following a foot chase around Singleton Lakes the individuals were detained. Officers subsequently recovered and seized a catapult and a balaclava. As a result of the incident, a 16-year-old male will be issued with a Community Protection Warning (CPW) in relation to his behaviour. Catapults are not harmless toys when used irresponsibly. They can cause injury to people, harm wildlife, damage property and create significant concern within the community. Reports involving catapults are taken seriously, and officers will continue to proactively patrol areas where concerns have been raised. We would like to thank residents who continue to report information to us. The information provided by the community helps us identify those responsible and take positive action. If you witness anti-social behaviour, criminal damage, wildlife offences, or the misuse of catapults, please continue to report it to Kent Police via 101, online, or dial 999 in an emergency.
