In the past few months we have seen an increase in the number of thefts of tent boxes and awnings from the roofs of cars and vans in Coventry.

Remember to make sure your tent boxes are securely fastened to your vehicle and using high-quality, tamper resistant hardware.

You can also install locking mechanisms and anti-theft bolts to them to make them harder to steal.

As with all vehicles, where possible you should try to park in well lit areas and/or areas covered by CCTV cameras or a video doorbell camera.

This can help to deter would-be thieves, who would rather target dimly-lit areas where they can gain access without being detected.
