School Parking

School Safety Reminder

The safety of children travelling to and from school remains a priority. To help promote safer driving and raise awareness of the risks around school drop-off and pick-up times, we have recently installed safety signs outside local primary schools.

These signs are intended to encourage motorists to slow down, park responsibly and think about the safety of pupils, families and school staff. A moment's convenience is never worth putting a child at risk.

We would also like to clarify that the police do not have primary responsibility for many parking-related issues, which are often enforced by the local authority. However, where parking behaviour creates a danger to children or other road users, we will take action where appropriate.

Please help us keep our school communities safe by parking with care, consideration and safety in mind every time you visit a school. 🚸👧👦
