Dear Ward, Members
On 31st October 2026, local officers were conducting reassurance patrols in the vicinity of Mottingham. Officers observed a male driving into the alleyway at Shottery Close, SE9, and suspected he was involved in the supply of controlled drugs to individuals associated with a nearby public house. Officers engaged with the male, who appeared nervous and suspicious in his behaviour. Grounds were established to conduct a drugs search; however, the male attempted to obstruct the search and was non-compliant with officers.
Following further enquiries and searches, the male was arrested for the following offences:
Obstructing a drugs search. Being concerned in the supply of Class A and Class B controlled drugs. Assaulting an emergency worker. Driving otherwise than in accordance with a driving licence. Additional drug-related offences identified during the investigation. Subsequent searches of associated addresses resulted in the recovery of further evidence and led to a second male being further arrested for Possession with Intent to Supply (PWITS) Class B drugs and possession of an offensive weapon.
This proactive patrol resulted in the recovery of a suspected stolen vehicle and the arrest of two individuals, helping to prevent further crime and keep the local community safe.
If you witness any suspicious behaviour or have information that may assist local policing teams, please contact 101 or 999 in an emergency. Information can also be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
