Good morning, I am writing to provide an update regarding recent police activity in and around the Luther King House area. Following concerns raised by residents at the recent PACT Meeting held at Birch Community Centre on 22nd October 2026, the Longsight Neighbourhood Policing Team conducted a proactive operation aimed at addressing the issues highlighted by the community. As a result of this activity, a number of significant arrests were made. One individual was arrested in connection with five outstanding theft offences. In addition, a further seven individuals were arrested on suspicion of offences including Possession with Intent to Supply Class A Controlled Drugs and Being Concerned in the Supply of Controlled Drugs. Residents will have noticed a heightened police presence in the area, including the execution of search warrants at a number of addresses. The investigation remains ongoing and those arrested have been released on bail with conditions. These conditions include restrictions preventing them from entering the Luther King House locality while enquiries continue.
We anticipate that this enforcement activity will reduce the level of criminality affecting local residents and provide reassurance that concerns raised by the community are being listened to and acted upon. We remain committed to working with residents and partners to make the area safer for everyone.
