Dear East Putney Residents,

As we enter the firework season, we would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable time with family and friends.

While fireworks are a much-loved tradition for many, we kindly ask residents to be mindful of others in our community. Loud bangs and bright flashes can be unsettling for young children, pets, older residents, and those who may be sensitive to sudden noise.

By taking a few simple precautions and showing consideration for our neighbours, we can all help make this a positive and enjoyable time for everyone.

A Few Safety Reminders

Only buy fireworks from licensed and reputable retailers.

Always follow the manufacturer's safety instructions.

Keep fireworks stored safely and out of the reach of children.

Never go back to a firework once it has been lit.

Keep water nearby in case of an emergency.

Supervise children at all times around fireworks and sparklers.

Being a Good Neighbour

If you are planning a display, consider letting nearby residents know in advance.

Please avoid setting off fireworks late at night.

Keep pets safe by ensuring they have a quiet, secure place indoors.

Clear up any litter or debris after your display has finished.

Where possible, consider attending an organised public display, which can be a safer and more enjoyable experience for all.
