Dear Resident,
Between 04/11/2026 19:37 a burglary took place at PARK CRESCENT, ELSTREE
Victim has been out of the house and left it unoccupied with no lights on. The security system was set. OFFENDER(S) are believed to have gained access to the rear garden of the address via 'RED ROAD PARK' where they have knocked down a wooden fence panel. The OFFENDER(S) have then used an unknown tool to smash a double-glazed door which allows access into a rear living room. The OFFENDER(S) have entered the master bedroom, spare double bedroom and children's bedroom which have been searched. It is not believed any items were taken and that the OFFENDER(S) were disturbed by a neighbour who rang the doorbell after being alerted by the homeowners.

Tips to prevent burglary:
Check downstairs windows and doors are securely locked before you leave or go to bed. Secure UPVC doors by lifting the handle and locking it to engage the security features. Don’t leave keys, phones or other valuables on windowsills or in any other visible place. Securely lock rear gates, sheds and garages. Keep tools and ladders locked away, as they could be used to break into your home. Use laminate glass where possible for any rear doors or windows. If this is not practicable, consider the use of security film over existing windows. Use a “Fake TV” or timer switches on lamps to give the impression someone is at home. Consider using a doorbell camera, interior camera, or a monitored burglar alarm. Consider adding trellis to any side or rear boundaries to add extra height up to a maximum of 2 metres.
Please be vigilant and do report any suspicious activity or behaviour in the area. If you need to report a crime please call 101 or go online here.
