Dear Resident, Firework Season: Keeping Our Community SafeAs we enter the firework season, many people across our community will be celebrating events such as Bonfire Night, Diwali and other occasions with family and friends. Whilst fireworks can be an enjoyable part of these celebrations, we would like to remind residents to use them safely, responsibly and with consideration for others. Unfortunately, each year the misuse of fireworks can result in injuries, damage to property and reports of anti-social behaviour. We are therefore asking everyone to play their part in helping keep our neighbourhood a safe and welcoming place for all. Please Be Considerate of OthersFireworks can be distressing for some members of our community, including: If you are planning a display, please be mindful of your neighbours and avoid setting off fireworks late into the evening. Firework SafetyIf you choose to use fireworks at home, please remember: Fireworks and Anti-Social BehaviourThe vast majority of people use fireworks responsibly. However, the deliberate misuse of fireworks can cause fear and put others at risk. Examples include: The Metropolitan Police will take action where offences are identified and where behaviour places others at risk. We would also encourage parents and guardians to speak with young people about the dangers and consequences of misusing fireworks. Reporting ConcernsIf you witness anti-social behaviour or the dangerous misuse of fireworks, please report it. Your information helps us identify issues and target patrols where they are most needed. Thank YouThank you for your continued support and cooperation. By working together, we can ensure everyone is able to enjoy the celebrations safely and respectfully. On behalf of your local Safer Neighbourhood Team, we wish you a safe and enjoyable firework season. Yours faithfully, PCSO Oliver Dunn | ||
